Apple has just announced its latest phones, the iPhone 17 series. That is updates to three known models and the new iPhone Air, which takes the place of the iPhone Plus. If waiting in line on release day is not your style, and you still need to secure one at the earliest opportunity, you will be able to reserve the iPhone 17, 17 Pro Max, 17 Pro or iPhone Air from 10pm AEST on September 12th, ahead of the September 19th release date.
The iPhone 17 gets a fresh design with a slightly larger 6.3-inch display and thinner borders. And after years of waiting (and a fair bit of grumbling), the base iPhone finally gets a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, Apple’s new A19 chip is faster and also more energy-efficient, especially when teamed up with Apple Intelligence. If you're upgrading from an older iPhone, you will see a massive jump in speed and smoother gaming thanks to ProMotion.
About the camera, you'll find a 48MP Fusion main camera (shooting 24MP photos by default) and also a 2x telephoto lens. The device’s ultra-wide camera also gets an upgrade to 48MP, making macro photography sharper and more detailed.

The iPhone 17 will come in six colourways: black, white, steel gray, light blue, green and purple.The iPhone 17 Air is set to come in colour options such as black, white, light gold and sky blue.
The Pro and Pro Max models will be offered in three premium finishes: blue, orange and silver.
